The Briercrest women’s volleyball team had many milestones in the 2012-13 that they hope to build on moving forward. Coach Nolan Weinmaster guided the team to an 8-12 record which is the best season since 2009-10, the last time that Briercrest qualified for the ACAC playoffs. Their fifth-place finish at the ACAC Championships in Red Deer was the best finish since joining the ACAC.

The season was highlighted by rookie Elly Wendel’s ACAC Second-Team All-Conference selection and SIRC-CCAA Academic All-Canadian Award.

Weinmaster leaned heavily on both veterans and rookies this season, having as many as four or five rookies on the floor at one time. With almost the whole team returning next season, the women’s volleyball team hopes to continue building momentum on the great strides that were made this season.
