Position Profile – Performing and Worship Arts Administrative Assistant

The role of the Performing and Worship Arts Administrative Assistant is to support the Performing and Worship Arts Department and Department Chair in accomplishing the necessary administrative tasks unique to this department. 

 

Qualifications

  • Ability to build and maintain systems and processes necessary to accomplish the mission of the Performing and Worship Arts department in an effective and efficient manner
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proven administrative skills and computer literacy
  • Proven ability to communicate well verbally and in written form
  • Demonstrates initiative

 

Desired Outcomes and Activities

  • Actively support and promote the mission of BCS
  • Assist the Department Chair in the distribution, signing and collecting of Adjunct Performing and WA Faculty contracts
  • Manage designated Performing and WA facilities and the booking for these facilities
  • Oversee the registration process of applied lessons ensuring its effectiveness and efficiency including the distribution and collection of billing forms followed  by payment calculations
  • Participate in the Christmas Celebration Production in a role defined by the Christmas Celebration Production Team
  • Ensure safety and care for grand pianos
  • Administer the distribution of keys
  • Coordinate payment of royalties and attaining of permissions as necessary for Performing and WA productions
  • Manage the recording and archiving of Performing and WA performances and productions
  • Assist with the promotion and front of house aspects of Performing and WA Events including: Summer Stage, Opera Tea, Opera Scenes
  • Serve on institutional committees in consultation with supervisor
  • Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair

 

Team Relationships

  • The Performing and WA Administrative Assistant Music will report to the Department Chair
  • The Performing and WA Administrative Assistant will be expected to work closely with the Performing and WA Arts Faculty, Academic Services, and other departments as requested by the Department Chair
