Summary

  • The Athletics Coordinator will develop and maintain the athletic department brand and event production
  • The Athletics Coordinator will be based out of the athletic department
  • Briercrest Athletics is dedicated to preparing student athletes to become champions pursuing excellence in their lives of faith through service, and in sport
  • The position will be a full time role

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s degree required but a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Related work experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Technical skills to execute this position is preferred but a learning and team attitude is desired
  • High level of ability to work and participate in team environment

Desired Outcomes and Activities

  • Brand Coordination
    • Execute overall department branding plan
    • Control and strengthen Briercrest Athletics brand awareness and  usage
    • Grow awareness and opportunities to tell our athletes, department, and institution story in an effective manner that will generate interest to all our desired audiences
  • Marketing
    • Populate and create content for the Athletics website
    • Create and coordinate athletic departments social media plan
    • Develop awareness within our community and surrounding area of event details
    • Coordinate with media outlets both local to us as well as developing plan to reach our players home town media outlets as well
    • Creation of awareness of upcoming events on campus with tangible campaigns
    • Strengthen on campus branding of athletics within overall marketing opportunities
    • Implement department overall marketing plan and create department publications
    • Coordinate with institution communications department on athletic department projects and/or opportunities
  • Department Events
    • Prepare and organize athlete welcome
    • Prepare and organize athletic awards banquet
    • Prepare and organize any additional department event
  • Compliance
    • Complete department eligibility requirements for involved conferences
    • Prepare department for league and conference work
    • Attend any league or committee meetings deemed necessary
    • Assist department in projects or league work
    • Track and maintain department stats and data
    • Help create and update department policies and writings as needed
  • Department
    • Assist athletic leadership with any assigned tasks
    • Help with bookings and prep that is needed for department work

Team Relationships

  • This position will report to Assistant Athletic Director
  • This position will work with Briercrest marketing and communications department
