Maintenance Facilitator

JOB SUMMARY

  • Briercrest Athletics is dedicated to preparing our student athletes to become champions pursuing excellence in their lives of faith through service, and in sport.
  • The Athletic Maintenance Facilitator will be part of a team that will oversee athletic facilities and provide leadership
  • The Athletic Maintenance Facilitator will be based out of the athletic department

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A desire and commitment to be a follower of Jesus Christ as a way of life.
  • Related work experience is preferred but not required. 
  • Ability to lift 35 kg
  • Valid Saskatchewan driver’s license or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to operate small equipment
  • Fair mechanical knowledge of equipment
  • Good mechanical aptitude
  • Refrigeration Operator certificate or Fifth class Power Engineering is required. We will consider candidates who have the ability to obtain the certification.
  • Arena Operator Certificate Level One is preferred, or the ability to obtain certification
  • Sport Field Maintenance Certification is a benefit
  • A good understanding and knowledge of landscaping, including chemicals and pesticides

DESIRED OUTCOMES AND ACTIVITIES

  • Department Member
    • Promoting overall Institutional and Athletic department direction
    • Along with other Athletic Maintenance Facilitators, will be responsible for the overall look and operation of the athletic facilities for department needs
    • Execute overall department plan for the athletic facilities
    • Manage and work through overall daily task list
    • Execute given projects on athletic facilities
    • Coordinate with Campus Operation team on larger maintenance needs
    • Coordinate with Event Management on bookings made through their department
  • Barkman Arena
    • Manage maintenance on ice plant
    • Monitor ice plant status
    • Develop and maintain a manual on ice plant care
    • Manage maintenance on Zamboni
    • Execute revenue opportunities with Athletic Business Coordinator
    • Ensure Fitness Centre maintenance and cleanliness through staff
    • Coordinate the issuing and renewal of Fitness Centre passes
  • Margaret P Reimer
    • Responsible for the facility being ready for upcoming events or usage
    • Responsible for the setup and take down process for department games and events
    • Responsible for the equipment storage and maintenance
    • Responsible for the overall organization of the facility
    • Execution of small repairs and development of facility needs
    • Execute revenue opportunities with Athletic Business Coordinator
  • Outdoor Athletic Facilities
    • Will coordinate with Campus Operations to execute overall plan for
      • Fields and Track
      • Tennis Courts
      • Beach Volleyball Courts
      • Ball Diamonds

TEAM RELATIONSHIPS

  • This position will report to the Assistant athletic director.
  • This position will work as part of a team of Athletic Maintenance Facilitators
  • This position will work with Campus Operations team
