Women's basketball can't hold on against Keyano

Briercrest women’s basketball traveled to Fort McMurray and had a very encouraging game against the undefeated Keyano College Huskies in the 54-39 loss.

At halftime Briercrest found themselves down 19-17 after losing the first quarter 9-7 and tying the second quarter 10-10.

Briercrest was not able to contain Keyano in the second half though, losing 18-10 in the third and 17-12 in the fourth.

Game notes: Leading players for Briercrest were player of the game Tracy Frimpong with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists, Claire Richardson with 13 points and 8 rebounds, Brittany Larson with 3 assists, and Nicole Meyer with 2 steals.

The teams were quite evenly matched in every statistical category except for in three-point and free throw efficiency and attempts 8.3% (1 for 12) and 50% (6 for 12) compared to 35.7% (5 for 12) and 75% (15 for 20) for Keyano.
