Briercrest volleyball hosts Grant MacEwan this weekend, hockey travels to Grant MacEwan and basketball has a bye.

Volleyball

Briercrest volleyball hosts the Grant MacEwan University Griffins for their final weekend of the fall semester.

For the second weekend in a row the Briercrest women will face an undefeated team from Edmonton in the 6-0 Grant MacEwan. Last weekend they faced an undefeated and CCAA seventh ranked NAIT and had an encouraging showing, this weekend will be an even stronger challenge as they face the CCAA top ranked team in the nation in Grant MacEwan.

The Briercrest men look to maintain their six game winning streak and 7-1 record this weekend when they face the hungry 2-4 Grant MacEwan team. Grant MacEwan's four losses came at the hands of the first and third ranked ACAC teams, so they can not be taken lightly. 

The women will lead off competition both days at the Margaret P. Reimer Memorial Gymnasium in Caronport, Friday, Nov. 23 at 6:00 pm followed by the men at 8:00 pm, and Saturday, Nov. 24 at 1:00 pm followed by the men at 3:00 pm.

Hockey

Briercrest hockey will be traveling to Edmonton to face the Grant MacEwan University Griffins this weekend to complete the first half of the season. This is a crucial weekend for Briercrest as two wins will vault them over Grant MacEwan and into 7th place in the ACAC as well as give them all important four points in the standings. Grant MacEwan is the only team that Briercrest has not faced this year, and will be the second last weekend of the fall semester.

Game times are 8:15 pm on Friday, Nov. 23 and 3:15 pm Saturday, Nov. 24. Both games will be played at the Bill Hunter Arena.

Basketball

Briercrest College basketball will be able to focus on getting healthy and rested this weekend as they get their first bye weekend of the 2012-13 season before heading on the road one last time before Christmas.

After completing a gruelling northern schedule, the Briercrest men enter the bye week ranked number eight in CCAA national rankings, and number one in the ACAC standings. The ACAC schedule will now shift to the divisional play, meaning playing the same team Friday evening and again Saturday afternoon, rather than the tiring routine of traveling to a new location for the Saturday evening games.
