Briercrest hockey hosts SAIT this weekend, basketball travels to Lethbridge and volleyball has a bye.

Hockey

With half of the ACAC hockey regular season complete, Briercrest now starts where they began the season with a series against the SAIT Trojans. This time Briercrest gets to host the Trojans for the last series before Christmas break. SAIT currently sits in third place in the ACAC and are coming off a weekend sweep of Keyano.

Game times are 7:30 pm on Friday, Nov. 30 and 2:00 pm Saturday, Dec. 1. Both games will be played at the Barkman Arena.

Basketball

After a bye weekend Briercrest basketball looks to end the semester on a high note as they begin the south division part of the schedule against Lethbridge College.

Men's basketball is currently sitting at the top of the ACAC standings and look to continue momentum with a strong two-game weekend series against the third ranked Lethbridge.

After a tough start to the season, against all North Division opponents that almost the whole south had difficulty with, the Briercrest women look forward to competing against a better matched team entering the Christmas break. Lethbridge has an identical 0-8 record and while they hold a slight edge in scoring offense 47.63 points per game compared to Briercrest's 43.5, Briercrest looks to use their ACAC-South second ranked defense to their advantage against a Lethbridge team that has allowed 86.63 points per game.

Game times are 6:00 pm Friday and 1:00 pm Saturday for the women, and 8:00 pm and 3:00 pm for the men.

Volleyball

Briercrest volleyball has a bye weekend to end the fall semester.

This bye week comes after an exciting weekend where the men defeated Grant MacEwan in exciting four and five game matches to enter the Christmas break on an eight game winning streak, and an 9-1 conference record.

The women also enter the Christmas break on a high note after defeating the CCAA nationally number one ranked Grant MacEwan in an exciting five set win Saturday night. They enter the break with a 3-7 conference record, but have faced three of the top teams in the country with encouraging results and look to build on that momentum moving forward.

The volleyball teams will resume their ACAC season at the Margaret P. Reimer Memorial Gymnasium in Caronport Jan 11-12, 2013 against Lethbridge.
