Briercrest builds lead and holds on for second win in as many nights

Briercrest women's basketball gets second win in as many night over Lethbridge College 62-56.

The women came out strong and were ahead 46-32 at halftime.

Coach Chad Romanuk broke down the game.

“The key to the game was a great start, ending the first half with a 14 point lead. We had another great shooting night from the 3-point line at 43 percent. Meghan Meyer was player of the game. She had 14 points, with 4 for 8 from the 3-point line. She also had eight rebounds, three assists and two steals.

“Claire Richardson had a double-double with 12 points and 50 percent shooting from the field,” continued Romanuk, “and also had 10 boards, two assists, three blocks and one steal. Hannah Klassen also added 11 point on 4 for 6 shooting and Brittany Larson had eight assists.”

Briercrest enters the Christmas break on a two game winning streak and a 2-8 record. Half of the schedule is now complete and the remainder of the regular season is against South Division opponents, beginning when they host Olds College Jan. 18-19, 2013.
