Briercrest completed the fall semester with an exciting last second come from behind win 83-81 win over Lethbridge College Saturday night.

Coach Rod Adrian gave a review of the game.

“Nine and one sounds like a great Christmas present doesn’t it?” Adrian said. “It did not come easy as we trailed the entire game until James Wohlgeschaffen hit a HUGE 3-point shot late in the game to give us the win.  We got into foul trouble early in the fourth quarter and counted on our bench to play big minutes at the end, and they came up big.  Player of the game honors goes to Gradyn Childerhose who finished with 29 points and 13 rebounds – giving him a weekend total of 61 points and 27 rebounds.  Scoring 1.09 points per possession yet turning the ball over 23 times allowed Lethbridge to stay in control of most of the game, but our superior shooting of 44% to their 39% gave us the opportunity to win.  I’m really pleased with how the men played together, battled through adversity, and finished well.  Merry Christmas indeed.”

Briercrest enters the Christmas break on a four game winning streak and a 9-1 record. Half of the schedule is now complete and the remainder of the regular season is against South Division opponents, beginning when they host Olds College Jan. 18-19, 2013.
