Briercrest women’s volleyball anticipated a good match-up with the SAIT Trojans, and Friday’s match did not disappoint.

Each team took their turn at playing at full strength, constantly going back and forth on the scoreboard.

Tied with two set wins each, Briercrest had a rough fifthset start with a score of 8-2 in favour of the Trojans. With amazing plays on both sides, Briercrest’s resilience and mental maturity came back to claim an exciting win over SAIT (19-17).

Briercrest won 3-2 (17-25, 25-16, 19-25, 25-22, 19-17).

Player of the Game for Briercrest was Whitney Zylstra with 10 kills, three digs, and a team high of four blocks.

Briercrest takes on the SAIT Trojans again for a second match Saturday, November 8 at 1pm (Mountain Time) in Calgary, with the men’s team following at 3pm.
