Wendel and Senneker selected 2013-14 ACAC men’s volleyball All-Conference Teams

Josh Wendel and Josh Senneker of the Briercrest College and Seminary men’s volleyball team were selected to the 2013-14 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference First and Second Team All-Conference.

The Briercrest students were given the award at the annual ACAC men’s volleyball All-Confrence banquet held at Red Deer College Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014.

Fourth year middle Josh Wendel led the ACAC in blocks this season with 62 blocks during the season, which amounted to a conference high 0.9 blocks per game. He also had 116 kills, 17 service aces and a team high 157 digs this season. This is the second year in a row that Wendel was names to the All-Conference Team as the Caronport, SK native was selected to the second team last year.

Senneker, a second year outside hitter from Vauxhall, AB ranked fourth in the ACAC this year with 206 kills during the regular season, which also had him ranked 10th for kills per game at 3.0. The business administration student also ranked third in the ACAC for aces with 0.5 per game. Senneker also finished the regular season with 103 digs and 26 blocks.

The men’s volleyball team begins their ACAC championship tournament against tournament host and CCAA number one ranked Red Deer College tonight, Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at 8:00 pm MST.
