Wohlegeschaffen and Sacoman selected 2013-14 ACAC men’s basketball All-Conference Teams

James Wohlgeschaffen and Christian Sacoman of the Briercrest College and Seminary men’s basketball team were selected to the 2013-14 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference South First and Second Team All-Conference.

The Briercrest students were given the award at the annual ACAC men’s basketball All-Conference banquet held at Red Deer College Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014.

Fifth year guard James Wohlgeschaffen was an all-around player for Briercrest ranking in the top 10 in every major category. He ranked 10th in the ACAC with 16.19 points/game, fifth with 51.3 field goal percentage, seventh with 2.14 steals/game, eighth with 6.91 rebounds/game, seventh with 0.43 blocks per game and ninth with 2.71 assists/game.

Sacoman, a third year guard from Albuquerque, New Mexico was a prolific scorer for Briercrest, ranking second in the ACAC with 21.5 points/game and first with 3.25 three-point shots made/game. He also ranked eighth in field-goal percentage with 47.6%, tenth with 2.6 assists/game and ninth with 2.0 steals/game.

The men’s basketball team begins their ACAC championship tournament against third ranked Lethbridge College Friday, Feb. 28, 2014 at 1:00 pm MST.
