The Briercrest women’s basketball team has shown potential and growth so far this season as they learn to gel with a new coach and teammates. As they continue to look for their first win of the season they can take solace in the fact that they have faced the 2 and 3 ranked ACAC South division teams to start the season. It doesn’t get any easier as they now face the CCAA number three ranked Lethbridge.
The men’s basketball team faces a similar challenge to the women as Lethbridge is the only undefeated team in the ACAC South and, like their female counterparts, are ranked third in the CCAA rankings. The Briercrest men’s basketball team has faced the adversity of many key injuries to start the season and are currently riding a three-game losing streak as they travel to Lethbridge this weekend. The young players have been forced to learn on the job to start the season and the hope is that this will pay dividends later in the season.
Game times will be Friday, November 7 at 6:00 pm for the women and 8:00 pm for the men, followed by Saturday, November 8 at 1:00 pm for the women and 3:00 pm for the men.
