Bennett brings speed, maturity and experience to Briercrest basketball team

Keon Bennett took his first step into Canada at the Regina Airport after a long journey from Baltimore, Maryland. He played previously at Grays Harbor College in Washington, and before that at Southwest Academy Prep.  Keon provides a competitive edge through his experience, and basketball pedigree.  Being the youngest in his family has made him tenacious, and he has an older brother that plays basketball professionally.

Keon says, “I’m looking forward to being coached by Rod Adrian and graduating from Briercrest with a great GPA.”

“Keon comes to Briercrest with solid college experience in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges (NWAACC), and will bring maturity, leadership, and a strong desire to win,” according to Coach Adrian, and goes on to say, “Lightening quick with the ball, and eager to attack, Keon will be a great addition to our fast paced style.  I’m really excited to have Keon come to Canada to play, learn, and grow as a man.  I have high expectations for him, and so does he, which will make for a perfect fit.”

Watch for Keon to lead the team’s offensive attack with his elusive moves, great pull up jumper, and “hard to guard” ball skills.  His passing is exceptional, but you’d better watch closely because it happens so fast.  His reflexes and basketball IQ help him on the defensive end to know when and where to apply pressure and get the steal.  Off the court you will see his friendly smile, and hear his fantastic ‘Merican accent.  A friend to all, he is a guy worth getting to know, and as a team we appreciate the way he challenges and encourages us all.
