Wanvig selected 2014-15 ACAC womens basketball Second-Team All-Conference Team

Amy Wanvig of the Briercrest College and Seminary women’s basketball team was selected to the 2014-15 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference South Second-Team All-Conference.

The Calgary, AB native was given the award at the annual ACAC women’s basketball All-Conference banquet held at NAIT Wednesday, March 4, 2015.

The second-year BA Applied Linguistics student-athlete had an incredible overall year for the young Briercrest team. She was also a key leader on the team as serving as captain this season.

Wanvig led the ACAC South with a field-goal percentage of 50.8%, second in free-throw percentage at 84.2%, ranked sixth in the ACAC South with 342 points (seventh with 14.25 points/game). She was also strong on defense, ranking fourth in the ACAC South with 194 rebounds (sixth with 8.08 rebounds per game. She was especially strong on the offensive boards ranking third in the ACAC south with 3.96 per game, while ranking 11th in defensive rebounds with 4.12 per game. She ranked second in the ACAC south with 9 double-doubles. She had the ninth best rebounding game of the year with 16 against Red Deer College Feb. 27.
