Another season of Briercrest Hockey is well underway.   It is fun to recall those first few weeks from our own playing experiences around the startup of a new season and all the excitement and sometimes pain that came along with that! This year, we have already endured a training camp together as well as been involved with a number of team building and community service opportunities, and classes are in full swing.    

We have a really neat group of guys this season and I am very excited for the season and would love for you to reconnect with the program along the way – whether at a game or if you are ever passing through Caronport – Please let us know!   

We again have a Hockey Alumni Homecoming weekend taking place around our Home Opener on Sept 25, 26 weekend against Keyano College.   We have listed a tentative schedule below but want to highlight a couple of key things we would love to see take place.

1)       A chance to eat with and get to know our current team after the game on Saturday.

2)       An opportunity to meet as Alumni to talk through many important ideas and steps we could take moving forward to help reconnect and engage our Alumni and help see this program continue to grow.

Justin Simpkins is an area based alumnus who is willing to step up to be a point person and host for our group.   Please contact him if you are able to join us for any or all of the currently planned events.   Please help us spread the word to your teammates as well!  If you or any of your teammates didn’t receive an email directly it might mean that we don’t have your current address so please send an update.

                          10:30pm - 12:00am  Alumni Ice Time 

Saturday Sept 26 9:30am - 11:30am  Alumni Ice Time

                             2:00pm - 5:00pm   Briercrest Hockey vs Keyano

                             5:30pm - 7:00pm   Dinner with current team at Barkman Arena

                             7:30pm - 9:30pm   Alumni round table discussion with Jamie Ramer

All costs for ice and dinner with team on Saturday night to be covered by Briercrest Hockey team.

If interested, we could arrange dorm room rentals at Briercrest College for an additional cost and there is also a special Pilgrim Inn alumni weekend rate available.
