All Briercrest teams in action, highlighted by softball hosting WCSA championship
It is another exciting weekend in Briercrest Athletics as all teams are in action, highlighted by softball hosting the Western Collegiate Softball Association league championships and men’s volleyball hosting Augustana for exhibition play. Women’s volleyball travels to Saskatoon, hockey continues ACAC play in Red Deer and basketball travels to Edmonton for the ACAC showcase tournament.
Softball
Softball hosts the 2015 WCSA championships at Caribou Heights Ladies diamonds (1500 Caribou St. W) in Moose Jaw this weekend, Oct. 2-4. They play the University of Regina at 6:00 pm Friday, followed Saturday by games against the University of Calgary at 10:00 am, University of Saskatchewan at noon and SAIT at 4:00 pm. Sunday the playoff rounds begin based on round-robin standings. Entrance to the games are $5 per day or $10 for a weekend pass. Briercrest students and staff/faculty get free entrance by presenting their id card.

Volleyball
Men’s volleyball hosts Augustana for a pair of games this weekend, Friday, Oct. 2 at 8:00 pm and again Saturday at 2:30 pm.
The women’s volleyball team travels to Saskatoon to play against the University of Saskatchewan Saturday at 6:00 pm and 7:30 pm and then Sunday they face Lakeland College at 9:30 and the U of Saskatchewan at 10:30 am. All games will be at the University of Saskatchewan.

Hockey
Hockey travels to Red Deer College for week two of the ACAC regular season. They play Friday, Oct. 2 at 7:00 pm and then Saturday at 1:30 pm. Games will be played in Penhold.

Basketball
The Briercrest basketball teams continue their pre-season by traveling to Edmonton for the ACAC Showcase tournament.
The women play CMU at 8:00 pm Thursday, Oct. 1, then 3:30 Friday against MacEwan and 9:00 am Saturday against Ambrose. The men play King’s at 8:00 pm Thursday, then NAIT 5:30 pm Friday and Concordia at 11:00 am Saturday. All games will be played at the Saville Centre in Edmonton.
