Christian Mueller brings stability to Briercrest net

Posted: October 23, 2015

Briercrest goaltender Christian Mueller stares down pucks with a Chuck Norris-like scowl. The Winnipeg product possesses an extraordinary level of focus and mental strength in his role as starting netminder.

Christian is completing a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration at Briercrest, and strongly advocates the approach to life that is central to the Briercrest hockey culture.

"What makes the Clipper program unique is the tightly knit community that we have," says Mueller. "We are able to band together and work hard and support each other. It's a really special program."

Christian has improved statistically each season he's been here, and has progressed from being Jesse Chenard's understudy to the starting role he occupies now. One highlight that stands out for him was his shutout against Concordia late last season. True to form, he's quick to give credit to his teammates.

"The boys were able to pull together and play unbelievably in front of me,” he said. “It was an awesome experience."

Mueller is also a dedicated student, making the dean's list as a top academic achiever. He shares a section of scripture that has helped guide him.

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus."

Christian will take his hockey career as far as it will go, and plans to start his own business in the future. Briercrest is proud to be represented by Christian, and wishes him success in all his future endeavours.
