Briercrest basketball hosts Ambrose, hockey travels to Keyano and volleyball has a bye weekend
The first semester of 2015-16 competition comes to a close for the Briercrest teams this weekend as Basketball host Ambrose University and hockey travels to Fort McMurray to play Keyano College. The volleyball teams have a bye week to end the semester.
Basketball
The Briercrest basketball teams will be hosting Ambrose University this weekend to finish off the first semester of play in the 2015-16 season. The Briercrest women’s basketball team will be looking for their first win of the season as they face a 1-6 Ambrose team. Ambrose’s one win was when they hosted Briercrest at the beginning of November. The Briercrest men will be facing an Ambrose team (4-3) who are currently tied for third in the ACAC South division. Briercrest defeated Ambrose in Calgary on Nov. 7 and will look for two more victories at home this weekend. The women will tip-off at the Margaret P. Reimer Memorial Gymnasium Friday, Nov. 27 at 6:00 pm, followed by the men at 8:00 pm, and the rematch will be Saturday, Nov. 28 with the women playing at 1:00 pm and the men following at 3:00 pm.

Hockey
The Briercrest hockey team will be finishing up the first semester of ACAC play with their longest road trip of the season. They will be travelling to Fort McMurray to face a Keyano College team (7-6-1) who are currently sitting in fifth place in the ACAC. The ACAC hockey standings are very tight this season, so every game is important and has playoff ramifications. Game times at the Frank Lacroix Arena in Fort McMurray are 7:35 pm on Friday, November 27 and 1:35 pm Saturday, November 28.

Volleyball
The Briercrest volleyball teams have a bye week to end the first semester of the 2015-16 ACAC season, while every other team in the ACAC South has games this weekend. The Briercrest women’s volleyball team (10-2) is riding an eight game winning streak, in first place in the ACAC South standings, and have been ranked number one in the CCAA national rankings all year. The Briercrest men’s volleyball team (5-7) is riding a five game winning streak and has moved into a four way tie for third place in the ACAC South division.
