Mitch Erickson brings strong serve and steady presence to Briercrest volleyball

Posted: January 8, 2016

Mitch Erickson is coming to Briercrest after completing his first year of eligibility in the PACWest Conference of the CCAA, where he was selected to the PACWest All-Rookie team in 2014-15.

Briercrest coaching staff first met the 6’3” outside hitter at the Briercrest Athletics Volleyball Camps. They  were immediately impressed with the level of discipline and ability that he already  displayed at that point in his career.

“We were excited about how Mitch was developing over the years,” Briercrest men’s volleyball head coach Nigel Mullan said. “Seeing him continuing to build off that great trajectory is awesome, for both his volleyball career and our program.”

The Saskatoon, SK native has brought a steady presence to the men’s volleyball team this year. Even though he has a quiet manner about him, his play has been anything but quiet.

“He competes hard on every point with a sheer determination for success to happen,” Mullan said. “He holds himself to a high standard, which is only helping him further his contributions to the program.”
