It’s a busy weekend for Briercrest, as they host Youth Quake. The busyness includes Briercrest Athletics this weekend as basketball hosts Lethbridge for their final home games of the year. Hockey will be travelling to Concordia and volleyball will be off to Lethbridge.

The Briercrest basketball teams will be hosting Lethbridge this weekend for their final home games of the season. The two Lethbridge teams are both in playoff positions. The Lethbridge men (9-6) are in fourth place in the ACAC South and Briercrest (2-13) looks to play spoiler as Lethbridge tries to hold on to the final playoff spot. The Lethbridge women (15-0) are solidly in first place in the ACAC South division and ranked number one in the CCAA. They will be a hard test for the Briercrest women’s team (2-13). Friday tip-off is 6:00 pm for the women and 8:00 pm for the men, while Saturday game times are 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm respectively.

The Briercrest hockey team will be travelling to Edmonton for some exciting games against Concordia (5-16-3-2) this weekend for their second last road trip of the 2015-16 ACAC season. Concordia currently sits in eighth place in the ACAC, while Briercrest sits in ninth, so it should make for an exciting weekend of close games. Briercrest has been playing some great hockey as of late playing spoiler against Portage and playing close games against second place Augustana this past weekend.  They will play Friday, February 12 at 8:15 pm, followed by a 4:30 pm puck drop on Saturday.

The Briercrest volleyball teams are coming off a bye weekend and are traveling to Red Deer for their last road trip of the regular season. This weekend has playoff implications for almost every team involved. Coming off a bye weekend, the Briercrest volleyball teams have four more games left in their season, while this will be Lethbridge’s final two games of the regular season. The Briercrest men’s team (8-12) is currently in fifth place in the ACAC South and fighting for a playoff position of fourth. Two wins over Lethbridge (12-10), would help provide them the opportunity to potentially jump as high as third. The Briercrest women (16-4) have been in first place in the ACAC South all season, and hold their own destiny to hold on to that position. They face a Lethbridge team (3-19) who are in last place in the ACAC South. It is sure to be an exciting end to the regular season!
