Christmas in Caron, 1942
After three weeks of travel and over 4,000 miles from home, a young flight cadet finds himself in the most unlikely of places: Caron, Saskatchewan. The year is 1942 and Luftwaffe bombing campaigns have forced the Royal Air Force to move their flight training schools to locations across Canada. Grappling with the pressures of his training and the dangers facing his family back in England, our hero carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. Feeling helpless, he must learn to lay his fears at the feet of an infant born in a stable two thousand years ago.
Christmas in Caron, 1942, is inspired by the true stories of young RAF pilots and their exploits at the No. 33 Caron Elementary Flight Training School. Combining newly composed music with familiar wartime tunes, this original dramatic musical will connect audiences to our shared local history and shared hope in Christ. Take in the sights and sounds of Briercrest's full orchestra and mass choir in the very location where our story is set, and feel the spirit of the season fill your heart.
Join us on November 30th for both the musical performances and our annual craft show in the historic Hildebrand Chapel at Briercrest College and Seminary in Caronport, Saskatchewan.
Doors open for the craft show at 9:00 a.m. and will close at 8:30 p.m.
Show times are at 2:30 p.m. or 7:00 p.m.
