Cinderella

Briercrest Christian Academy presents the musical Cinderella.

Adapted by Douglas Carter Beane, Cinderella, Broadway Edition, tells the story of Ella, and her courageous efforts to remain kind and compassionate, leading her community toward change, amidst conflict. Ella meets Prince Topher, a young leader still questioning his purpose but tasked with running a kingdom under the watchful eye of villain Sebastian.

New character Jean-Michel, a revolutionary, tries to convince the prince that things aren’t as they should be. With Ella’s assertiveness, Topher begins to see the needs of his people and his kingdom’s true potential.

Ella’s stepsister Gabrielle is far more complex compared to the traditional version. Gabrielle is not interested in the prince, but Jean-Michel, the revolutionary, while Charlotte. . .still wants the prince.

Crazy Marie, or the Fairy Godmother, provides some comedic relief and aims to help Ella become independent and less concerned with impossible feats.

BCA’s production of Cinderella includes cast members from BCA and from the community of Caronport. Performances will be held in Caronport’s historical Landing Theatre.
