Time for Henderson to get back to work
Many students are gearing up to graduate, but it’s time for Student Body President Anthony Henderson to get back to work—he’s been elected to a second term by Briercrest College students.
He’s looking forward to not having to learn the ropes in his first six weeks in office—he’ll be able to start working from day one. He’s also looking forward to doing things even better the second time around. "I know what I can and cannot do!" he says.
His primary goals will be to "create a space for students to deepen their relationship with Christ through their studies, in their dorms, and in our chapel program." Student government has already begun to do this by offering more variety chapel options, creating a prayer room in the academic building, working closely with the college chaplain, Cal MacFarlane, in developing the college’s chapel program, and beginning a "Question of the week" initiative on Big Red, the college’s online discussion forum.
To the college students he’s led this year, he says, "It has been an honor serving you, leading you, encouraging you, praying for you, representing you, challenging you, supporting you, and empowering you….More work is ahead of us, and I am thrilled to play a part in the work here at Briercrest."
