Briercrest was a place for me to practice the things I was learning. What does it mean to play as a Christian? How do you love guys who are hitting you? Everything is on display, [and] fans are watching everything you do—how are you going to respond?
Long before me, someone dreamed about combining hockey and faith and using them on the mission field. Because of HMI, I had the chance to play in Sweden, and now I get to chaplain three hockey teams and oversee the chaplaincy in southern Ontario. I'm one of those people who are dreaming about how to bring hockey and faith together.
