Happy Easter from Briercrest!
Sometimes it’s difficult to remember what makes Good Friday so “good.” It’s the day we mourn the death of our Saviour. It’s the day we remember the enormity of what he forgave—and how little we deserve it.
But it’s also the day that gives us hope, because we know that Sunday came—and it always will. And for that, we will rejoice and praise our God this year and every year.
Dr. Cal MacFarlane, our college chaplain, prepared us to observe the Holy Week in Monday’s chapel service. On Tuesday, John Barkman, our chancellor, addressed the student body on forgiveness. Tomorrow, Good Friday, the school will remain closed as we remember Christ’s death and celebrate the hope of his resurrection.
The staff and faculty at Briercrest College and Seminary would like to wish you a blessed Easter weekend. We will reopen Easter Monday, April 13.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade.” 1 Peter :3-4
