Briercrest College and Seminary is in for a little taste of Asia. Crista Cornelius, who has spent the last 16 years studying and teaching Chinese in China, has joined the Briercest faculty as an instructor of modern languages and TESOL. She’ll be teaching Chinese and co-teaching Linguistics this fall, and she’ll oversee the TESOL Internship in the spring. Her appointment is part of a new partnership between English Language Institute/China and Briercrest College and Seminary. Cornelius has been a member of English Language Institute/China since 1993, and the director of the Chinese Language Program from 1998-2008. During that time, she taught Chinese, developed Chinese curriculum, trained and advised Chinese language learners and teachers, and provided administrative direction to the Chinese Language Program.
“We are thrilled to welcome Crista Cornelius to the TESOL teaching team,” says David Catterick, the TESOL Program Coordinator. “Her heart and passion for ministry through language teaching convince me that she will fit right into the TESOL family.”
