This year's retreat witnessed inspiring participation levels. The Senior High Retreat drew an impressive 1,600 registrants, while the Junior High Retreat engaged 417 youth and 141 youth workers. One of the standout events was the pre-retreat 'Experience Briercrest,' with a record-breaking 49 individuals participating — up by 40 attendees from the previous year!

Scholarships

The YQ scholarship programs played a significant part in the retreat. Organizers were overjoyed to receive 41 scholarship form submissions from prospective college students, 11 of which were new applications. Thirty-six of these eager learners will receive a $500 award upon enrollment. Six scholarships — totalling an incredible $13,335 — were awarded to deserving recipients.

Theme

This year's retreat theme centered around Isaiah 61. Participants delved deeply into this profound chapter that promises hope, renewal, and empowerment through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. The theme served as a guide for insightful discussions, prompting everyone to consider how faith can turn ashes into beauty and bring about renewal where destruction once held sway.

Testimonies

It’s always a joy to hear how these events impact the students, volunteers, and parents. One group leader expressed heartfelt gratitude for an "extraordinary opportunity," noting that the youth experienced Jesus in a "dynamic and powerful way." A parent echoed the sentiment, lauding Briercrest's hospitality and expressed a sense of being overwhelmed by the work we are doing.

Impact

The impact of our Briercrest retreats continues to resonate within our community, fostering spiritual growth, camaraderie, and fostering a deep love for God’s Word. We are forever grateful for the opportunity to serve our youth and look forward to future gatherings.
